that Girl can't run a mile



When I was in the 10th grade, I was overweight.

I was suppose to run a mile to pass gym class.

I dragged myself around that track.

Most of the time, I walked.

My gym teacher even yelled at me to take larger strides.

I was about 180 pounds, 4 foot 10.

I had exercise induced asthma.

On that day I felt humiliated.

Today. I ran 6.5 miles.

my goal was a 10k. And I ran that and then some!

While I was running I kept remembering that I can never quit.

I can never give up.

I couldn't run a mile just a few years ago. And now..

I'm on my way to a half marathon.

Running has brought me the strength, I never knew I had.

worth it all.

Perhaps my life has become consumed...

I was once a prisoner of my own body.

And now I spend all my thoughts and energy trying to improve it.

I can't help but feel moved by those who have the same struggle I have.

Somehow something so simple as a cupcake has worked its way into my life as something much more.

Turning to food to eliminate those feelings. To relax those thoughts. To be the friend we never had. To be the hobby we could never find. To be the love we never felt.

The relationship becomes something it was never support to be. A relationship at all.

Food. As good as it is. Can be like a drug. A drink. An addiction.

It was be the one thing that takes us to our grave.

We have to consider if things are worth it. If eat bite is worth our lives.

We have to rediscover who we are, and why we do what we do.

Our lives are precious.

I'm sorry if you didn't have a friend when you needed one.

I'm sorry if you feel as no one loves you.

I'm sorry if you are hurt.

But this is your chance.

This is your moment to do this. For you.

To show yourself worth. You are worth it. You have something to live for.

Let your life be consumed by love and self worth.

You mean something. And no matter the damage done to your life.

You still have time to shine.

Home made chocolate milk

mix 1 oz water with 1 and 1/2 teaspoon unsweetened coco powder.

add 2 packets splenda (or sweetener of choice)

stir till smooth

add 11 oz of cold milk (skim for low call)

stir together.

Serve.

I make this in a glass 2 cup measuring cup, then poor into cup when finished.

Its yummy and good for you!

I have been strangely hungry all day long.

Move those feet.

So.. I am totally sick of my same old exercise videos.. but I didn't want to spend 10 bucks just to find out I didn't like them..

About a week ago..
I was happy to find out I can watch some on Netflix! How exciting!

So, I've been working my way through a variety of workouts on "instant play".

I've done like 6 videos so far. Today I found one awesome one with a guy who has an eye patch. But it was seriously amazing. It had boxing and cardio all for your abs! I am feeling pretty thin since I starting working out almost daily. I am pretty determined right now. And enjoying my new workouts.

I am excited to see what the scale says!

My day in exercise

I woke up this morning completely ready to exercise. I had lots of time.

I made some whole grain waffles for my husband and I.


I got on my workout outfit and started the work out video.

Well.. my video happened to be playing on netflix. And my computer happened to stop connecting to the internet. After 7 minutes the internet would not stay connected.

Annoyed... I began trying to fix it.

Then... the power went out. yep. 3 times.

then the phone rang and a person stopped by...

the power came back on.. 2 hours later.. I attempted to fix the internet problem.

still.. nothing..

then I cried.

almost 4 hours later. I showered. Quit my efforts and got ready for the day.

Very upset.

Since today is 1.1.11..

I was starting my big new work out program.. and since I couldn't begin. I was very, very upset..

well.. after all that time.

I tried again.

And it worked.

We had to be some place, so I had to leave my exercise for the next day.

At 1 am we returned home.

And I decided. I would still exercise.

And so I am writing this at 2:24 am. After a 45 minute workout.

I finished what I started. Happy new year!
